Selinke and Sponnagel Grand Piano In Burr Walnut
The instrument had some structural and extensive veneer damage caused by fire exposure and wood shrinkage.
Restoration process started with re-gluing and stabilising the components of the cabinet, then complete removal of the existing finish, veneer repair and finally complete repolishing of the instrument.
Johann Ulrich Fichtl 1763, Mittenwald, 4/4 Violin in Spruce and Tiger Maple
A beautiful old instrument in need of attention to body, sound and varnish.
Complete restoration included opening of the instrument, replacement of bass bar, closing cracks, cleaning and restoration of the varnish and polishing. Fitting of new sound post, bridge and strings. The original case restored and repolished. Ready to play.
Otto Bach Upright Piano in Mahogany
The instrument suffered prolonged water and damp exposure, leading to damage to the left side and bottom of the cabinet.
Restoration consisted of fine joinery, reveneering and french polishing. Overall touch-up and buffing to unify the colour and sheen of the instrument.
Steck Pianola in Rosewood Veneer
Unfortunately we only have photos of the completed restoration. The instrument had some structural and veneer damage and its original finish had completely deteriorated. Here it is, completely restored, repolished and looking beautiful.
